Terms of Service

Threat Desk is intended for security researchers, cybersecurity professionals, IT administrators, and other authorized users evaluating technical security information.

Threat Desk is an administrative and decision-support aid. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, independent investigation, legal advice, compliance advice, or a complete security assessment. Threat-intelligence data can be incomplete, stale, inaccurate, or misleading.

You are responsible for reviewing and validating the Service's output before blocking an address, changing a firewall or security control, remediating a vulnerability, contacting a third party, or taking any other action.

You may use the Service only for lawful and authorized purposes. You may not:

• submit indicators or data you are not authorized to investigate;
• use the Service to facilitate unlawful activity, unauthorized access, harassment, abuse, or harm;
• attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, security measures, or usage restrictions;
• introduce malicious code or attempt to disrupt, overload, degrade, or interfere with the Service;
• scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service in a manner that materially burdens the Service or its upstream data providers;
• reverse engineer or attempt to extract non-public portions of the Service except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law; or
• represent Threat Desk output as guaranteed, authoritative, or independently verified professional advice.

The Service currently relies on public and open-source threat intelligence, network, registry, routing, vulnerability, and related third-party information. Threat Desk does not control those sources and does not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, timeliness, continued availability, or suitability for a particular purpose.

The Service may link to third-party resources, services, merchants, or programs. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Threat Desk is not responsible for third-party content, services, availability, or policies.

Threat Desk does not require an account and does not maintain a user-submission database as part of the current Service. Requests are processed through hosting and network infrastructure, and technical providers may process or temporarily cache request and response data as necessary to deliver, secure, and operate the Service.

Do not submit confidential, personal, regulated, or otherwise sensitive information unless you are authorized to do so and have determined that submission is appropriate.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

Threat Desk does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any result, score, recommendation, remediation information, source data, or other output will be accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your environment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Threat Desk LLC and its owners, personnel, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, business opportunity, or security arising from or related to the Service or reliance on its output.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Threat Desk LLC's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Threat Desk for the Service during the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or $100.

Threat Desk may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue all or part of the Service, its features, its data sources, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision. These Terms constitute the agreement governing your use of the Service unless Threat Desk and you have entered into a separate written agreement that expressly supersedes them.

These Terms are a practical initial version and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before the Service is commercialized, offered under paid plans, or used in higher-risk or regulated environments.
